TL;DR: Sex workers wear lingerie professionally, not as a hobby. The way we look and style ourselves has a direct impact on our income. Being visually appealing and offering exciting underwear options to customers and clients is a core competence for us. Lingerie bloggers who wear lingerie as a hobby with no consequence to their income or ability to work looking down on sex workers is caused by nothing but whorephobia and classism. Denying the impact that sex workers have on lingerie sales and trends is whorephobia. Taking the images of sex workers from ealier eras out of context and celebrating their “looks” and “style” while shaming and condemning contemporary sex workers is whorephobia. Imitating sex workers in style and posing while constantly making sure everyone knows you’re NOT a sex worker is whorephobia. Acting like expensive lingerie is disconnected from sex work because of its price is whorephobia and classism combined.
