Dear New Porn Creators:

For more interesting Stuff please do not hesitate to have a closer look

  • Don’t ever make the mistake of telling people your real name – first, middle, last, just don’t do it.
  • Don’t steal people’s ideas – especially if they’re original. Things like teacher and nurse videos are common, but if you release one right after another sex worker does, that looks really bad on you. So don’t do that.
  • Make sure there are no geotags when you post photos, whether your phone or your camera. If there is, make sure you get rid of all that info before posting it.
  • Only use payment options that are approving of sex workers. Don’t get your accounts shut down like so many of us have.
  • If you accept gifts as payment, make sure that gift is in your hand before you send them ANYTHING.
  • Get an at least somewhat decent camera or webcam before you start shooting. The nicer your content looks, the better it will sell, and the more you can charge for it.
  • You have to actually put in the work if you want to get money out of this job. You can’t expect a whole lot if you aren’t putting any effort into it.
  • Don’t feel bad when you have a period of slow sales. We all go through it, especially during times like Christmas or the beginning of the month when a bunch of money is needed for things that aren’t porn.
  • Find your niche. Something that sets you apart. And advertise the fuck outta that. Make content around it. Be your own unique self – or your own unique persona. But also make sure you stick to it, or at least don’t change it around a bunch in a short amount of time, or you’re risking losing customers who were interested in the niche persona they originally paid for content from.
  • It’s okay to take breaks. If you need to step away from sex work for a month or something and focus on yourself, it’s okay! Everyone deserves a vacation, especially in an industry like this where we are so prone to burnouts.
  • Always get your money before sending ANYTHING. Don’t let someone pull the wool over your eyes and run off with your content.
  • If you see your content somewhere else, file a DMCA takedown notice immediately. People don’t own your content when they buy it, they only own the right to view it, and you need to protect yourself.
  • If a customer asks you for something you don’t wanna do, don’t do it if you can help it. Sometimes you’re going to be really broke and do it even though you feel awful about it. Trust me, I’ve been there. But don’t feel bad. I’m guessing every sex worker has been through this, and please remember it isn’t your fault and you did what you needed to do.
  • Frequent the “sex work” tag. There, you will not only find a ton of info and advice, but you will also connect with a bunch of other sex workers. When the going gets tough, there will be people who will connect with and understand you.
  • You are, under no circumstances, obligated to out yourself to anyone. If you’re worried you’ll lose people in your life, you don’t have to tell them you’re a sex worker. However, I’d like you to also keep in mind that as soon as you start doing this job, there’s no turning back. Your porn is forever online, and if it’s going to be a bad situation down the line because someone found out you were a sex worker, do not do this job.
  • The block button is your best friend. Use it. And use it a lot.
  • It won’t take long before you start realizing who’s a customer and who’s just wasting your time. Don’t let people waste your time. Move on. They’re getting free interaction with you and they know that.
  • Don’t answer sexual messages. Make those fuckers pay for that shit.
  • Understand that this job requires lots of social interaction. It’s not just looking pretty for the camera. It’s more about interacting with your customers than anything else.
  • Set earnings aside to buy yourself nice things once in a while. I usually save up extra money for several months, then I go on a huge shopping trip to the mall. It can be draining having all that money and only using it to buy groceries and pay for bills, so remember to give yourself something nice, too. Even something as small as a new hairbrush can make you feel a lot better about all the work you’ve been doing.
  • Advertise every single day. Whether it’s just one ad or your full content, you have to make sure people keep reblogging your ads so you don’t end up falling off the face of the earth.
  • Set up a work e-mail with no relation to your real identity. E-mail is the best way of communicating with customers.
  • Know that you WILL receive threats. Know that you WILL receive hate and harassment. If you cannot deal with that, do something else.
  • If a guy says “I’ll pay you if you give me a short preview video” or anything like that, don’t do it. He is a freeloader and is trying to get you to give up free content. There is no intention of paying with these kind of messages.
  • Love yourself every day because you are a magical goddess/god/deity and you deserve nothing but total adoration.
